One of the must-do outings here in the mountains is a trek to Mt. Kosciuszko, which can be done from the top of the chairlift at Thredbo or Charlottes pass. The return distance is approximately 14 kilometers, making it a reasonable trip for most healthy people. Be sure to keep an eye on the weather and pack appropriate clothing though, since the weather is liable to change quickly and without warning.
Only 1 kilometre from Warreen is Penderlea Horse Riding. Get in touch with them at 02 6457 2442.
Thredbo Alpine Village
Thredbo has some exciting news for winter 2014. With new on-mountain developments and exciting new products & pricing there is something to suit everyone - first timers, seasoned pros and especially families - to ensure they have the most enjoyable snow holiday.
Thredbo will be developing a snow play area for winter 2014. This is a great addition to village that is famous for its BIG list of other things to do and now there is much more. Located at the base of the mountain near the Valley Terminal tennis courts visitors can now slide on a toboggan, ride a snow tube, build a snowman and just generally play in the snow. There will be new snow guns installed to the area so there is always, when possible a fresh supply of the white stuff.
Thredbo will be developing a massive terrain park for the coming season. Located on the lower half of Australia's longest run - The Supertrail - the terrain park will provide skiers and boarders with a longer more diverse park providing more room to create new and exciting features. It will be perfect for those looking to build their terrain park skill set.
